Virgin are an example of how not to do IT and refits. Total amateurs.
It was like that when I got here, Sir!

Really? I think the refits of UCS and PE for example on the A346 were expertly done.

Is that the new seats?
It would be nice to think that at any moment VA are going to release a press announcement with lots of photos of the refit. All the excitement is getting to me now and with a flight in seven days to MCO just want to know what plane we will be on! Can't wait!!
It says on the Virgin website that the new PE seats will be available on LHR flights and Gatwick to Barbados.
The VS web site often has a loose grasp of reality. It is still insisting that the new PE seat is available on LHR flights and will shortly be rolled out to other services. Updated march 2012.
Clearly the two new A330's with the new PE seat that entered service April last year have not yet been noticed.
Where is this on the VS site? I can't find it!
I am assuming therefore that G-VROM is planned to be operating all flights to BGI from this/next week? How will this interact with VS29/35/37 and different departure times etc?

Although originally scheduled for 2010 in the case of the UCDS for example ii) , remember the debacle about the suites not fitting the A333 and all the redesign.
Oh, then there's the bug on miles bookings on the web site, been there for, a year?
etc.
McMaddog wrote:Well, notice I didn't try and defend the IT bit! As for the seats, don't forget the A330s were ordered in a panic and the seats had been designed for the wider B787 that Boeing seem incapable of building.

When people have been waiting to choose their seats through MMB, how long before your flight did the seat plan appear? I am flying on 12th June PE to Cancun, I know chances are slim for having Barbella on our flight. So I am looking to get seats in the Bubble. Booked through VH so apparently this is guarenteed.

Although with the refits this might be out the window!!

i think this has to do as well with the reshuffle of seats. i know under the EU carriage it has to be compliant but also as the aircraft flies to US destinations has to be compliant as the aircraft is going through major refurbishment..
makes an interesting read!

I took my grandmother to DXB and although there were only four wheelchair reliant passengers on the flight it took nearly twenty minutes to disembark us after everyone had left the plane. Sometimes in life common sense has to prevail.

I do find it "amusing" how many people need wheelchair assistance (and hence priority boarding) onto the plane, but are then able to exit under their own steam after a long flight...
