Ah, grand, I must be doing something wrong (not unknown!)
We can get better, because we're not dead yet

The tax element will be the same (UK APD is the same in PE as UC and the OP is already in UC as is the Canadian HST). What is different is the VS fuel surcharge which is not a tac at all.
There might also be a change fee involved - its not just a case of substituting a UC for a PE ticket - or the need to move from the K into either the W/S PE fare buckets before doing the upgrade.

I do tend to think of the VS fuel surcharges as a tax though.. just levied by VS instead of a gov against the rising cost of fuel duties. n(

The VS fuel surcharge goes 100% in to the VS bank account. And whilst the surcharge has gone up the price of oil has come down ...

More of this Virgin please

(Reminds me of the old days when Z's as standard were only £2k!)

Agent told me it was like "buying a TV that went on sale" and then wanting to get the difference back from the shop.
A gentle push with a mention of the gold card and the number of bookings that I'd made this year, to see if there was anything she could do...and a quick check with her supervisor and now 20,000 miles refunded and £20 fare difference paid essentially for an extra leg in Upper. He's going to be so chuffed!
Now, just have to find a G so I can accompany him back in the same cabin!

I was quoted Upper class return last week of £3200 by Virgin holidays.
Is that about the best price for that journey from what people have previously seen?
preiffer wrote:You have until 23:59 on the 14th June, *UK time* to COMPLETE the transaction.
So beware.... VS' systems are useless at session control. You really need to be starting the booking process by 23:30 at the latest.
