well it might appeal to some travelling 'pairs' now the PE is mostly downstairs on the LGW flights. It certainly eliminates the worry of being stuck with another person on one side of a couple. Also an advantage for a family if you watch the ANZ video of the seat.
If I cannot 'request' PE in either the bubble or the window/aisle pair of seats - I would certainly opt for this

That would be a no-brainer for me. 1 x J seat for a little bit more than 3 x Y seats :w
I've said it before but this is not designed for the single traveller.
