Only joking, of course it's not going to happen. This was a hypothetical rebrand. Interesting all the same.

Ok, first off I was thinking... some people have way too much time on their hands.. Sealink :P

However upon reading the article, seeing this was done by a designer in response to an AA 'experiment', now I'm thinking this is really cool. Very "Catch Me If You Can" era... instead of AA think PanAm :w

Interesting (but flawed) thinking down the blogging for miles line though, I hope airlines do not see this as 'revolutionary' thinking :? It will only open the flood gates and devalue miles even more..

Haha. I did a few weeks ago "make" an airline timetable. On PowerPoint.

So yes, you're right. :-)

I love the hypothetical rebrand -- it is great. When you compare the mocked-up website to their real one... :0

AA don't fly 747s though, unless I'm mistaken. |:)

I recently read a book about fonts (don't ask!) and there was a bit on AA and its use of Helvetica... all very interesting stuff.

:D

This is the book -- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Just-My-Type-About-Fonts/dp/1846683025/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352380786&sr=8-1

Me too -- they are fascinating.

OK getting into serious geek territory now, but on my wish list is this, which I saw in NY last week: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Helvetica-York-City-Subway-System/dp/026201548X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1352380919&sr=1-1

You are correct, they don't now, though they used to.

The Eagle on the tail goes back to an old colour scheme they had, many decades ago.
