A while ago, during the points sale I managed to book return flights for my son and myself to Orlando flying out in G on the 1st July VS27, returning on the 9th in PE on the VS16. I was delighted to get the Gs and also to be able to use my Amex vouchers on the PE return. The timing of the holiday was all about bagging the Gs. I then got the Itinerary Change email on the 21st Dec - which announced a 10 minute later arrival time. I went into manage my booking, checked we were still travelling G and accepted the change. Today my older son was curious as to how much a seat for him would cost and checked the equivalent revenue flights - which say that there are no UC seats available and shows the VS27 being operated by an A330-300. I checked MMB and it now shows a 330 for the flight but still shows G. Could they be putting on a 3 class 330 (If so would there not be more UC seats than a Gatwick 747) or has Virgin forgotton to inform us that we are no longer travelling in G?
Any advice appreciated.

The LGW A330s are being refitted to include a UC cabin - so it looks like this will happen before your flights. VS will certainly need UC on BGI where the A330s will also fly, or it may as well give up there!

You could always ring and confirm.

Thanks Slinky09. I rang flying club and was told that I was booked in G and that everything was in order. After a little persistence, the rep put me on hold to get advice. When she returned, it transpired that the aircraft won't have any U/C seats. I have now been moved to the later flight which is still a 747. Hopefully there will be no more changes. Living in Belfast, Dublin is much handier for MCO (no connecting flight, pre customs/immigration clearance etc) but VS is worth the hassle to bag a G. I didn't realise until now that I could be downgraded :0 .

Buns, I don't blame the agent, when I pressed she did make enquiries without me having to ask for a supervisor and did get things sorted. I have less confidence that the VS systems provide the call staff with all the info they need. Thankfully, short of a last minute equipment change everything should now be sorted.

Perhaps it's the cynic in me but my initial thought was that if you hadn't been proactive they would have preferred the downgrade option rather than find another UC seat at this stage, hence no email?
