Well, one thing's for certain - it ain't no Clubhouse. Not that I expected it to be but, really the offering is woeful on a par with basic US lounge and there's the almost mandatory business man who has been droning on his phone since I arrived nearly an hour ago in spite of the fact that there's a separate room for making calls. All that's on offer food-wise is cornflakes and two different types of muesli, some cheese and biscuits and some fruit and yoghurt. The coffee machine needed replenishing and, even after reporting it, I managed to eat a bowl of cornflakes before it was seen to. There's a half full/empty bottle of red wine, some optics with spirits and mixers in a fridge and champagne is on offer for €15 a pop. :0

I have the best part of another two hours here. Emirates would not schedule a pickup less than 3 hours before departure even though I was at Aer John's pad on the opposite side of the M50 to the airport and could hear the planes taking off before first light.

Mind you, the pickup and check-in service were both excellent and it can only get better, can't it. ):

Have a good trip HL at least you are getting away from the weather here. The strong winds and rain have caused some havoc locally, our next door neighbours fence came down just narrowly missing our car,(only two months old).

I still haven't acclimatised after being home nearly three weeks now, heating on full and winter quilt on.

Will be thinking of you in sunny South Africa. ii)

Thank you for your kind words. It is however, bright sunny and crisp here. Our high winds were the day before yours. We got fed up with them and sent them on to you. :D

This is just not good enough v(

So far you have had a comfortable overnight stay, the car picked you up as arranged, the plane is on time and there is only a faint hint of a disaster in that the coffee needs filling up and the lounge is in general not up to your usual CH standard. :w

This is definitely not the drama filled HL trip we have come to love and expect.:P

Have a safe flight and a great holiday x
