Well, one thing's for certain - it ain't no Clubhouse. Not that I expected it to be but, really the offering is woeful on a par with basic US lounge and there's the almost mandatory business man who has been droning on his phone since I arrived nearly an hour ago in spite of the fact that there's a separate room for making calls. All that's on offer food-wise is cornflakes and two different types of muesli, some cheese and biscuits and some fruit and yoghurt. The coffee machine needed replenishing and, even after reporting it, I managed to eat a bowl of cornflakes before it was seen to. There's a half full/empty bottle of red wine, some optics with spirits and mixers in a fridge and champagne is on offer for €15 a pop. :0
I have the best part of another two hours here. Emirates would not schedule a pickup less than 3 hours before departure even though I was at Aer John's pad on the opposite side of the M50 to the airport and could hear the planes taking off before first light.
Mind you, the pickup and check-in service were both excellent and it can only get better, can't it. ):
