I have on more than one occasion used the Travelodge at T5 and can say that travel between terminals is just as easy as travel from any of the bath road hotels in to T3 if not easier. You have the London bus network all free. The HEX free every 15 mins or the Piccadilly line free with an Oyster card.

Recently I have been using the doubletree by Hilton a little bit further away from LHR but still just 15 mins or so on the 111 or 105 bus.

The other way you can tell it's the Sofitel is because it has exactly the same number of Trip Advisor reviews as the actual Sofitel listing just below it in the list.

Do remember that lastminute.com are also on cash back sites too. (Quidco currently offering 10% cash back on lastminute.com hotel bookings).

Or you could arrange a car to drop you at DTCI ):

I've been thinking about DTCI gfonk, but it would be a cab and I gather you've got to phone ahead and give details of vehicle and driver etc. I know this is slightly off topic, but has anyone used DTCI with a taxi? I quite like the idea of DTCI it's got a sort of VIP thing going which appeals to my ego! Lol ;) And besides, every post I've read about it sings it praises.

Is that 100% because if it is The only one I might book it for my trip in march

Yeah it definitely is - booked it just the other day! About £97 it was, seems to be available most of the time - bargain for that price!

Description was: "Elegance and comfort easy access to the Airport 5*"

One way to tell for sure too is that the secret hotel has the exact same number of trip advisor reviews as the branded listing for it!!

Nice one blacky! Looking forward to hearing how you get on at sofitel
Bretty I believe that a few v-flyers have used black cabs for DTCI.
You could always book a CDC! Extravagant but hey!

Think i'll book Sofitel too now rather than Radisson which I was going to book.

I can't book CDC on G's unless I want to spend miles and I don't think it's worth 17500 of my precious miles, Gollum, Gollum! ): Think I'll more than likely go to bag drop and take the magic lift. Not sure whether we'll take a taxi or use HEX to get between terminals. Probably HEX as I'm all for using available free services lol.

I'm in two minds about how to get to T3 ,I want to show my bro in law the DTCI but is it really worth it ,would be much easier to just get the HEX :?

Humph @**! Went back to lastminute.com to book Sofitel and it's now not even listed as available. v(

Still, I'm not in any rush to book as I'm not going for 3 months, so maybe another deal will come up.

We are not amused!

Sofitel, without a doubt. That goes for LGW too.

However, the rates were extortionate for our hols this year so we're at the Sheraton Skyline this time. I have requested a runway view room.

Yes agree, I too am not amused :(!

I followed this post and the tip to go onto last minute.com for booking the Sofitel, it was there at first but by the time I plucked up the courage to book 2rooms for the 'top secret' 5* at Heathrow - wham it had gone.

We are actually flying BA out of T5 so really want to book an overnight at the Sofitel.

Like we say about air fares - see it, like this price and book it ii)
