Great to see this has landed safely. I was watching this with crossed fingers as it circled over Burgess Hill this afternoon.
Steps and buses on their way to the aircraft, so looks like the pax will be disembarking shortly.

Any one know anymore? What will happen to PAX today?
Indeed - hope the landing went well - seems that it did as BBC News are reporting the plane has landed.
As to what happens to the pax - well, you get no preferential treatment if your flight is cancelled or goes technical. (i.e. no bumping people off tomorrows VS43 to accommodate todays pax). That said, I am sure Virgin will do all they can to get passengers who still want to travel to Las Vegas as soon as possible, by rebooking on other carriers if need be.
Nail biting for all of us, what must it have been like for those on board. And their relatives on the ground. A brilliant landing by the flight crew.
Just goes to show that the Virgin pilots and cabin crew are trained to the highest standard and carry out something like this without fuss.
BBC just showed the actual landing.
Looked pretty much like a normal one to me except for a slight bump.

Huzzah for International Jet-setting !

I would guess so, but not sure if I would want to be getting onto another plane after that..! Well, not straight away.
Amazing job by the crew - will look on news later as interesting to see it landing and how they did this. Thanks god it went well - give that pilot (and crew) some credit, they have earned there money today!
Looks nicely level on the runway.
It was like that when I got here, Sir!
Sky reading a tweet from someone claiming to be on board saying the crew were "outstanding" and very calm. As you would expect from VS!
Doing exactly what they have trained for and doing it exceptionally well. The pilots would certainly have covered this in their training more than once under a lot of different conditions. Whoever the moron was on TV that mentioned "belly flop" and "foam on the runway" should be shot.

Huge relief for everyone and well done to the amazing crew and all involved.

I assume this is going to cause a touch of chaos with only one runway.

Good! Let's hope that tone continues and after the excitement the headline "Aircraft lands safely and without incident after technical issue" is sufficient.
We can get better, because we're not dead yet
Sky now speaking to a passenger on board.
Says the landing was textbook, felt smoother than normal. Crew "excellent" and passengers very calm, no real sense of drama on board. Big round of applause on landing, "nothing but kudos to VS & their crew".
Hear hear.

The BBC video of the landing is on YouTube already. Looks very smooth
Interviews with passengers are lauding the competency, calmness and professional "calm, text-book" landing. Kudos to all VS staff--sounds like it was a hydraulic issue--v scary.

I have travelled for over 30 years to many parts of the world with numerous airlines and I can safely say with maybe Qantas aside, I dont think I have come across flight and cabin crew as highly professional and proficient as Virgin. They obviously have high standards and quite rightly so, they are brilluant.

Absolutely.
I'd be in the clubhouse, downing a few redheads, and have no qualms whatsoever about getting back onboard another flight today!
There's a plane at JFK, to fly you back from far away
all those dark and frantic transatlantic miles

Looks like a brilliant landing, with or without fault... Anyone know who the pilot was today..?
Also, fair play to the chap on the BBC playing it down as a minor issue and not trying to sensationalise this.

Before I get "jumped on" no luck ... Just good training a systems !
I would imagine it would go either way... pax could be thinking on the line of having used up all the luck, or that life is too short, let's blow it all...

Anyway nice to hear good comments from the passengers after such an incident. Well done to the pilots and crew

What a happy ending. I watched it on Sky News whilst biting my nails down to the quick. Can't imagine how nerve shredding it must have been for the passengers, though.
Amazing work by the crew .... It is times like this that we appreciate them .... Next time they forget to top up my wine during dinner then perhaps I'll let it go !
The Beeb just carried some comments from one of the PAX. As well as praising the flight crew, he was equally complimentary of the CC. Anyone else agree with me that these guys n' girls are seriously underpaid?? The next person I hear make an 'air head cabin attendant joke' is going to see my nasty side...
Just out of interest, how do the logistics work now in terms of getting PAX that want to fly out to LAS and PAX back from LAS? Also (and sorry to ask this question in light of an incident such as this), who bears the cost of diverted flights heading into LGW?

Absolutely superb outcome for everyone, glad all is well, and how marvellous the crew and pilots are. Warms your cockles

At the end of the jetway TURN LEFT and... champagne, champagne for everyone

Wonderful news it had a happy ending, and a bonus that VS are getting good news reporting on their handling of the incident. Well done everyone...
