Any one know anymore? What will happen to PAX today?

Indeed - hope the landing went well - seems that it did as BBC News are reporting the plane has landed.

As to what happens to the pax - well, you get no preferential treatment if your flight is cancelled or goes technical. (i.e. no bumping people off tomorrows VS43 to accommodate todays pax). That said, I am sure Virgin will do all they can to get passengers who still want to travel to Las Vegas as soon as possible, by rebooking on other carriers if need be.

BBC just showed the actual landing.

Looked pretty much like a normal one to me except for a slight bump.

I would guess so, but not sure if I would want to be getting onto another plane after that..! Well, not straight away.

Amazing job by the crew - will look on news later as interesting to see it landing and how they did this. Thanks god it went well - give that pilot (and crew) some credit, they have earned there money today!

Doing exactly what they have trained for and doing it exceptionally well. The pilots would certainly have covered this in their training more than once under a lot of different conditions. Whoever the moron was on TV that mentioned "belly flop" and "foam on the runway" should be shot.

Good! Let's hope that tone continues and after the excitement the headline "Aircraft lands safely and without incident after technical issue" is sufficient.

Sky now speaking to a passenger on board.

Says the landing was textbook, felt smoother than normal. Crew "excellent" and passengers very calm, no real sense of drama on board. Big round of applause on landing, "nothing but kudos to VS & their crew".

Hear hear.

I have travelled for over 30 years to many parts of the world with numerous airlines and I can safely say with maybe Qantas aside, I dont think I have come across flight and cabin crew as highly professional and proficient as Virgin. They obviously have high standards and quite rightly so, they are brilluant.

Absolutely.

I'd be in the clubhouse, downing a few redheads, and have no qualms whatsoever about getting back onboard another flight today!

Before I get "jumped on" no luck ... Just good training a systems !

I would imagine it would go either way... pax could be thinking on the line of having used up all the luck, or that life is too short, let's blow it all... ):

Anyway nice to hear good comments from the passengers after such an incident. Well done to the pilots and crew y)

The Beeb just carried some comments from one of the PAX. As well as praising the flight crew, he was equally complimentary of the CC. Anyone else agree with me that these guys n' girls are seriously underpaid?? The next person I hear make an 'air head cabin attendant joke' is going to see my nasty side...

Just out of interest, how do the logistics work now in terms of getting PAX that want to fly out to LAS and PAX back from LAS? Also (and sorry to ask this question in light of an incident such as this), who bears the cost of diverted flights heading into LGW?
