I thought I recognised Rodrigo from somewhere, I am sure he has also appeared on another TV programme about plastic surgery. He, apparently, has spent over £100k on plastic surgery!!!!

Since always. Disabled toilets are a requirement if the old disability discrimination act and the replacement equalities act.
They are for together use of disabled, not abled people, due to the fact that because if certain disabilities either the abled toilets are not fit for purpose or the disability can be bowel related. Majority if disabled toilets have a RADAR key requirement so that the toilet is available for disabled use only.

It's like saying "disabled parking spaces" are for general use....

Slight but of annoyance on some of the disabled sites, of VS using the disabled toilet as a make up r,ooh at the start, more down the route of "encouraging able people to abuse the disabled toilets" not a good view of Virgin for this, that also started the comments about the cruddy service given to the disabled.....

I'm assuming they'd hired out that whole venue for their launch event, so don't suppose they were denying anyone access.

I can't remember how I came across a discussion of this, but I did recently where there was cogent argument that it should be the case that the able bodied should not use disabled toilets as it is potentially denying access to those who really need them and have no alternative.

The sign on the door in question designates the toilet as unisex and disabled. You see these in places that don't have the space for separate toilets or wish to have a 'quick win' to comply with the disabilities laws. Starbucks is an example of such a place. Just because the door has the disabled symbol on it does not mean it is a disabled only toilet.

The VS 787's have a very similar sign on the front 2 toilets.

I use the wheelchair accessible toilets in my local pub all the time.
The wheelchair users don't seem to mind.

I think the most irritating thing for me is Mr. Lusardi and that backpack. Like a little schoolboy walking around.

The issue is that there are some people - as in the woman who remonstrated with the poster of that thread - who still have the belief that disability = crippled and that people with hidden disabilities aren't really disabled. She had no idea whether the poster of that thread was disabled or not - she just assumed "he can walk so he's not disabled".

Apparently she just had a walking stick - did that automatically make her disabled?

Many local authorities use the term 'accessible' in planning guidance because there are many people who are not disabled but who have other needs e.g. parent and small child where a larger room is better for them.

TBH I have no compunction in using accessible toilets when necessary. And what do those who say that the non-disabled shouldn't use them when an accessible one is the only one available in many places? And where there is more than one toilet and no one who requires an accessible is using it surely it makes sense for the facility to be used for the comfort of all?

I watched the first episode last night and actually quite enjoyed it. I especially liked the photo call auditions and the attitude of the staff who attended all seemed really cool. cant imagine the same with BA

made me miss flying VS. After reading Brettys TR about SFO I am feeling inspired. Mrs GFONK wants to go to vegas too so....

i better get writing, but first of all shopping trip for crans later in the week.

Caught up yesterday - was hoping that I could do all episodes back to back, but I think I arrived at the party a little to early for that. Shame, as it looks like it rolls together nicely.

The one thing that stood out for me was - this is much better than the BA version, another thing VS can do better! From the cabin crew training (where the BA one seemed like it was about getting rid of people and being harsh) to the clubhouse it has again rekindled my love for the brand.

Yes, there were some horrific inaccuracy's and some very 'cringe worthy' moments. The 'happy endings' line was a bit silly - I will go out on a limb and say it was a hot rush of blood to the head as he was on TV. Also, the 'who are BA' response in NY from the CC when they were doing the publicity. Would have been better to ask why fly BA and actually try to win the custom, in my opinion - although, I do again believe if the cameras were not there it would have been very different.

I also must say, credit to the chaps in the warehouse - they come across very well...

Overall it was fun to watch and I believe VS come out looking very good. I did hear somewhere (cant recall now, I think a colleague at work) but after the second show they went to look at VS flights and the website was down due to too much traffic. If so, fair play - that site must have massive bandwidth so lets hope they got some bookings from it to help them get back to a decent profit..!

Next I would be very keen to see a show on Virgin Holidays - how the staff there have the uniform and have to live up to the Brand - also what they do from shop to shore... Perhaps follow a few holiday makers from booking in a Tesco (how very unglamorous!) to getting their cars at the airport - and of course the flights...
