It was quite an eye opener. It was near Christmas and the flight was full of Mexicans loaded down with massive Toys R Us carrier bags...some larger than themselves! Somehow, it was all allowed in the cabin. Goodness only knows where it was stowed! The in flight meal is one I will never, ever forget....a stale cheese sandwich and a scoop of stone cold mashed potato!
All the on board announcements were in Spanish so we didn't have a clue what was being said but it could well have been about the extra hour time difference between Cancun and Miami. Suffice to say we spent 5 days of our week long holiday on the incorrect time! It wasn't until we went down to breakfast at 7.00 am on the day we were doing an excursion and the dining room was shut, that we realised....after having stormed into reception demanding to know why it wasn't open...that it was only 6.00 am!
Those were the days.
